Nathan Foley, PLA

Nathan is a registered landscape architect and part-time lecturer at The University of Virginia School of Architecture.

Prior to founding makegoodspace, Nathan helped imagine, plan, and design public and institutional landscapes across North America as an Associate at Nelson Byrd Woltz Landscape Architects (NBW). While there he managed projects such as The Ramble in Fayetteville Arkansas and The Aka Kahn Garden at the University of Alberta Botanic Garden in Edmonton, Alberta.

Prior to NBW, Nathan worked as a project designer at Gustafson Guthrie Nichol in Seattle, Washington and as a design historian for The National Endowment of the Arts study of Lawrence Halprin’s pedestrian mall in Charlottesville, VA.

Nathan graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Environmental Thought and Practice and later earned a Master in Landscape Architecture and Master in Urban and Environmental Planning from the School of Architecture at UVa.
